Outer walls of International Harvester’s old Farmall Works that have blocked the public’s view of Sylvan Slough in east Rock Island are coming down in the next week. Work began on one wall Tuesday.

The letters and calls were like a eulogy after the Quad-City Times ran a story Jan. 7 on the wrecking of the vast International Harvester Farmall Works, which was the world’s biggest tractor factory.
