MADRID -- A high-speed train derailment in southern Spain has left at least 39 people dead and injured more than 150, according to authorities.

Officials on Tuesday were struggling to identify bodies from the crash near the southern city of Córdoba, which killed at least 41 people.

During Tuesday's operation, transport minister Puente told Spanish media that officials had found a broken section of track that could possibly be related to the accident's origin.
