At least 100 vehicles were involved in a massive pileup on I-196 in Michigan on Monday amid intense winter weather, with multiple injuries reported, authorities said.
Crews closed I-196 in both directions Monday, Jan. 19, in Hudsonville because of the pileup crash in icy conditions that began after 10 a.m., state police reported. The closure was located between exits 62 and 55, read a post from the state police’s account on X, formerly Twitter.
Between 9 and 12 people were injured in the massive pileup, the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office said. All stranded motorists were bused off the interstate.
